Appointment of Mathieu Drolet as President of TeraXion

Quebec City, September 11th, 2023 – TeraXion is pleased to announce the appointment of Mathieu Drolet as President, to further support the continued growth of the Quebec-based company. Mathieu Drolet, who previously served as Vice President of Engineering and Operations, will also become Executive Vice President of indie Semiconductor (Nasdaq: INDI), TeraXion's parent since 2021.

Mathieu Drolet has held several key positions at TeraXion and has developed solid expertise in the photonics sector, notably as an engineering manager at ESI, and as a researcher at INO. His appointment brings a new generation of leadership to the company, succeeding TeraXion co‑founder Ghislain Lafrance, whose expertise will continue to be called upon during this transition as Vice-President of Business Development.

Boosted by its partnership with indie Semiconductor, TeraXion has increased its R&D staff in Quebec City to accelerate the development of its technologies. Among other things, the company has pushed back the limits of its laser sources, whose performance now ranks among the best in the world. This technology has enabled TeraXion to win a major contract to develop a multi-frequency source for a next-generation gyroscope. The launch of a new range of laser products for optical detection and lidar is planned for the coming months.

The new 2023 strategic plan includes expanding the company's range of innovative photonic components and consolidating opportunities to advance in the value chain. The company will continue to innovate through the development of advanced photonic technologies and product industrialization. Exported worldwide, TeraXion manufactures its products in Quebec City and currently employs 200 people.
