Ion gas lasers are well established as light sources used in many industrial and biomedical applications. When reliability and long life expectancy are important, semiconductor-based lasers offer clear benefits over ion gas lasers. TeraXion has developed the PWS-NLS, which is an ultra narrow band laser stabiliser available in a wide wavelength range. This stabiliser allow semiconductor lasers to reach wavelength stability comparable to that of ion gas lasers.
