LIDAR systems offer a variety of remote sensing capabilities such as measurement of range, velocity, vibrations, wind shears and aerosols concentration.  Many systems have impressive capabilities, however, the size and cost of these systems most often restrict their wide deployment. TeraXion’s PureSpectrum semiconductor laser modules enable high performance and compact LIDAR systems. Through its frequency control technology,linewidth narrowing of semiconductor DFB lasers down to a few kHz is accomplished. Such an improvement in frequency noise provides a reliable solution to size and cost constraints and consequently opens the use of platform-deployed laser remote sensing systems to a broader base of applications.
