BAE Systems Laser Source Assembly Program
TeraXion designed and built a frequency stabilized laser system for BAE Systems Electronic & Integrated Solutions. This high performance wavelength locked laser system is a key element of BAE System's Laser Source Assembly (LSA) program. TeraXion extended the application of its laser frequency noise reduction technology platform to suit the particular frequency stability requirements of the BAE Systems program. A complete design against program requirements was accomplished followed by fabrication and delivery of prototype units.
The Frequency Stabilized Laser architecture was based on stabilization of a semiconductor laser frequency to a molecular referencing element. The approach is targeted toward realization of a space qualifiable laser system. Control software enables automatic absorption line identification and self-locking onto a pre-defined transition.

In addition to supplying frequency stabilized lasers, TeraXion designed and delivered a fully integrated laser characterization test suite. This modular turn key system allowed precise characterization of packaged laser diodes and Frequency Stabilized modules against sophisticated high end parameters such as frequency stability, linewidth and RIN.
